Application Process
- Complete the questionnaire and essay using a computer with a standard word processing program (such as Microsoft Word). Name your document file: “J9Application-Your Name” and send it via email to: michael@j9foundation.org.
- Ask the adult writing your letter of recommendation to send it via email to: michael@j9foundation.org.
- Send your official high school transcript via postal mail to: The J9 Foundation, 124 Military Road, St. Simons Island, GA 31522
- All application documents are due by March 21.
- Please call Michael or Sandy Nyenhuis with any questions: 638-4512.
- Finalists may be asked to participate in a personal interview with members of the selection committee.
- The scholarship winner will be announced April 21, Jacob’s birthday. Funds will be paid directly to the student each year by August 1.

- What are your passions? Give specific examples of how they have influenced your life.
- Describe ways your entrepreneurial spirit has led you to initiate ideas, activities, events or enterprises. What have you learned from these activities?
- Describe how your entrepreneurial spirit would influence what you would do with $10,000?
- Describe ways your compassionate heart has led you to serve others.
- If you were given a chance to help a homeless person, what would be the first thing you would do?
- What are your college and career plans?
- Essay
- Describe in 500 words or less how you intend to use your entrepreneurial gifts to benefit others.
